Parish of Yarnscombe: Bus Timetable Changes September 2024

Here are the changes to bus timetables in northern Devon with effect from 1 September 2024.

5B Exeter – Crediton – Torrington – Bideford – Barnstaple

Route to Exeter City Centre is revised to use the new bus lane next to John Lewis and Sidwell Street instead of Longbrook Street and York Road, with the timetable revised to reflect this.
The 1630 journey from Exeter will leave at 1645 to accommodate Exeter College students. The service will operate via Morchard Road instead of Bow and North Tawton.
Many journeys will be operated by double decker buses to provide additional capacity.

19 North Devon District Hospital – Barnstaple – Roundswell

21/21A Ilfracombe – Braunton – Barnstaple – Bideford – Westward Ho!/Appledore

The current through service arrangement will now be split in Barnstaple and replaced with three new services operating segments of the old service.

21/21A Westward Ho!/Appledore – Bideford – Barnstaple

Services 21 and 21A will operate between Barnstaple Bus Station, Bideford and Westward Ho! or Appledore.
Daytime frequency will be every 20 minutes between Barnstaple, Bideford and Northam, with two journey each hour continuing to Westward Ho! and one to Appledore.
Evenings will operate hourly between Barnstaple, Bideford and Northam, with alternate journeys continuing to Westward Ho! or Appledore.
Sunday frequency will be every 30 minutes between Barnstaple, Bideford and Northam and hourly to Westward Ho! and Appledore.

21B Ilfracombe – Braunton – Barnstaple

Service 21B will operate between Barnstaple Railway Station to Braunton and Ilfracombe.
Daytime frequency will be half-hourly.
Evening and Sundays will operate hourly.
The NightRider service from Barnstaple to Bideford and Ilfracombe promoted by Vision Zero will end its summer season on the 7th September.

21C Barnstaple – Braunton – Croyde Bay – Georgeham

31 Ilfracombe – Woolacombe – Mortehoe

75 Torrington – Bideford

One of the afternoon journeys from Great Torrington School to Bideford will depart ten minutes later at 1535.

155 Barnstaple – Landkey – South Molton

Most Journeys which currently connect with service 346 (to and from Tiverton) will become through journeys, with no change of bus required.
To enable the through bus connection, these journeys will no longer serve Mill on the Mole.

301 Barnstaple – Muddiford – Ilfracombe – Combe Martin

Some journeys will be operated by double decker buses to provide more capacity for students.
An additional Friday journey will operate from Ilfracombe Academy to Combe Martin to cater for the earlier school finish time on that day.

346 South Molton – Witheridge – Tiverton

Most journeys which presently connect with service 155 to and from Barnstaple will become through journeys, with no change of bus required.
Most journeys will be operated by double deck buses.
The 1015, 1215, 1415 and 1615 from South Molton will operate ten minutes earlier.

372 Barnstaple – Bideford – Littleham – Bradworthy – Holsworthy

Stagecoach has given notice on the contract extension that provided additional journeys, funded by the Bus Service Improvement Plan grant from the Department for Transport. Having reviewed the costs and the very low number of passengers using these journeys, it has not been possible to find a sustainable way to reinstate them.

1140 Holsworthy to Bradworthy
1212 Bradworthy to Holsworthy
1330 Holsworthy to Bideford

646 Holsworthy – Ashwater

Relating to the 372 service listed above, the following Monday – Friday journeys will also be withdrawn:
1010 Holsworthy to Ashwater
1035 Ashwater to Holsworthy
1235 Holsworthy to Ashwater
1300 Ashwater to Holsworthy

815/821 Appledore/Westward Ho! – Bideford – Park School

903/904/921 Bideford – Fremington – Pilton Community College

819/919 Bude/Bideford – Atlantic Academy
